Speaker Announcement: Mr. Marcus Long on the Future of Global Assurance
The Organizing Committee of the IMEKO TC8-TC11-TC24 Joint Conference Philippines 2026 is highly honored to announce Mr. Marcus Long as one of our distinguished Plenary Speakers for the upcoming conference this 26-29 August 2026, in Metro Manila, Republic of the Philippines.
Mr. Long serves as the Chief Executive of the Independent International Organisation for Certification (IIOA) and is a member of the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI) Executive Committee, where he chairs the Stakeholder Committee. With an MBA and a BSc in Economics, his extensive career spans pivotal leadership roles, including Head of External Affairs at BSI and Head of Customer Service for Network Rail, alongside key roles at BT, Marks & Spencer, Next, and Land Rover.
At a time when society, business, and governments face an unprecedented pace of change, Mr. Long will deliver a timely plenary address entitled:
"Global ACI - The Heart of a Changing Assurance World"
This presentation will delve into the profound impact of the historic 01 January 2026 merger of IAF and ILAC into Global ACI. As a central pillar of the future of accredited conformity assessment, Global ACI stands at the forefront of global trade, economic development, safety, and sustainability. Mr. Long will explore the strategic priorities of this new global accreditation powerhouse and the collective actions required by the quality infrastructure to effectively benefit global society.
