Lab of the future: Lab of the Future is a European project co-funded by the European Union that promotes practical training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR) and Cloud-LIMS for laboratory technicians and students across Europe.
These materials provide a clear and up-to-date overview of the technologies that are transforming laboratories, making it easier to understand their practical use and impact.
Its mission: to accelerate the digital and green transition of the laboratory sector through technical and sustainable training.
Project objectives:
Develop a training programme and an immersive learning platform on digitalization and sustainability.
Improve key competencies in AI, VR, IoT, Blockchain, Cybersecurity and Cloud-LIMS.
Share best digitalization practices in the European context.
Facilitate the digital and green transition in laboratories.
Connect training with the real needs of the labour market.
The Lab of the Future consortium is formed by:

IES Peset (Spain) a formal VET centre specialized on digital and lab studies and training,
Ambidata (Portugal), company providing digital solutions for laboratory management, specialized in Cloud-LIMS solutions,
Metricode (Italy) operating in the industrial weighing sector through the creation of software and digital solutions,
CKM (North Macedonia), focused on improving knowledge management through digital learning and platforms,
EUROLAB (Belgium), Europe’s leading network representing testing, measurement and analytical laboratories,
EfVET (Belgium) EU network of vocational education and training institutions.
