The EA Advisory Board was set up with the encouragement of the EU Commission as an independent committee to involve the stakeholders of EA.
This Advisory Board represents a link between EA, the European Commission, EFTA, the national authorities of EA member states and trade and industry in order to safeguard the EA principles of independence, technical competence, cost effectiveness, impartiality and integrity of its accreditation and related activities.
The composition of the Board shall constitute a well-balanced representation
of the parties which depend upon and contribute to the European accreditation
system, i.e. conformity assessment community, industry, consumers, authorites,
etc.
Because the EAAB has only a limited number of members, "college-networks"
were established for each of these fields, in order to deliver input to
from all stakeholder groups.
The Board has been renewed in July 2006 : EA Advisory Board - Membership 5th term
